Board Skills Matrix: Color Coding for Skill Types

Last year, I blogged about the board skills matrix, highlighting a few of the Transparency Criteria that apply and noted a few good disclosure examples. I wanted to bring Wal-Mart’s 2024 proxy (on pages 11-12) to your attention because of how they color coded the matrix this year with yellow (for those skills related to oversight of strategy) and blue (for those skills related to oversight of governance). It’s a great idea and I imagine we will see more of this going forward from others.
